Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca
Overview
Rainbow Mountain, Vinicunca, is one of the most astonishing natural landscapes in the Peruvian Andes. Its distinctive shades of red, green, gold and ochre come from the mineral composition of the terrain, creating a scene that looks as if it were painted across the mountains.
The experience begins in the early morning hours in Cusco and continues through high Andean communities to the starting point of the hike. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking scenery of mountains and valleys, often accompanied by grazing Andean camelids.
Your effort on the trail is rewarded at the main viewpoint, where a spectacular panoramic view of Vinicunca and the surrounding peaks awaits.
